A mass shooting occurred at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Wednesday, leaving 17 people injured and two children dead. Authorities confirmed the gunman, who is believed to have fired through church windows into a space where children were praying, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara stated that 14 of the injured were children, with two fatalities among them. The suspect reportedly possessed a rifle, shotgun, and pistol. A smoke bomb was discovered at the scene.
Witnesses described chaos as children exited the school, with some covered in blood. Mike Garrity, a local resident, recounted seeing about a dozen crying students flee the building, including three visibly injured. Faculty members warned others not to enter the premises as police arrived.
