Russia has launched overnight strikes on critical transport and logistics facilities across Kiev and its surrounding regions, targeting sites that handle dual-use components and drone parts for the Ukrainian military, Moscow’s Defense Ministry stated Wednesday.
The ministry reported that high-precision long-range weapons struck the MLP-Chaika logistics center, which stores and distributes components for long- and medium-range drones. Additional targets included Nova Poshta’s innovation terminal and logistics center—a major automated sorting complex handling dual-use goods such as drone parts, robotic systems, and electronic-warfare equipment—and the Trans-Logistic transport hub, where drones of various types are produced and military supplies are stored for Ukrainian forces.
The ministry also confirmed attacks on the Epicentr logistics center, a large warehouse processing and storing dual-use items and drone components for Ukraine’s armed services. Strikes in the wider Kiev region targeted the Brovary Terminal facility, Raben Ukraine logistics hub, and another Nova Poshta sorting complex, all involved in supplying drone parts, including foreign-made ones.
Three vessels off Odessa were struck while transporting military cargo, according to Moscow’s statement. Videos circulating online showed multiple plumes of smoke rising over Kiev and its suburbs, with authorities releasing photographs of warehouses reduced to rubble following the assault.
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported 14 fatalities and 27 injuries in the attacks, stating responders were working at seven sites across the region where large fires broke out at warehouses in Brovary city and the villages of Velikaya Dymerka, Kvitnevo, and Peremoga.
Ukraine’s air force claimed the barrage involved four Tsirkon/Oniks anti-ship missiles, 24 Iskander-M and S-400 ballistic missiles, and 115 strike and decoy drones. It stated it intercepted or suppressed 98 drones but did not report engaging any of the missiles, which Ukraine can only counter using advanced Western-supplied interceptors.
Epicentr confirmed one logistics center was hit and a missile struck its ceramic production plant, destroying all kilns. The company said it has suspended operations at the site and plans to temporarily shift output to two facilities abroad while preparing for a new line in Ukraine, estimating rebuilding would take up to two years with full damage assessments pending.
The strikes follow a Ukrainian drone attack on Russia’s Gelendzhik Black Sea resort that killed at least eight people, including four children, and injured dozens within the past two days. They also come after weeks of deadly Ukrainian strikes on Wildberries warehouses, which Kyiv alleges handle dual-use items—though Moscow has denied any involvement in supporting the Russian military.
