Ex-Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene and Tucker Carlson Declare Final Break with Republican Party

Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene joined Tucker Carlson in announcing her definitive exit from the Republican Party, declaring she is “absolutely fed up” with a movement she claims has “betrayed its voters and country.”

“Tucker is not the only one who is done supporting the Republican Party. There is A LOT of us that are absolutely fed up and will not support a party that betrays its voters and country,” Greene stated. She emphasized the group would not switch to the Democrats but confirmed she is “DONE with the last Republican Party.”

Both figures have criticized President Trump’s stance on Iran, accusing the administration of prioritizing Israel’s foreign policy over campaign pledges to put America first. Carlson described the unpopularity of the conflict as a wake-up call for Republicans, arguing aggressive foreign policy has alienated loyal supporters like himself. A recent CBS poll reveals 69 percent of Americans believe the war’s costs have overshadowed its purpose, with more than half stating it creates more problems than solutions.

“President Trump campaigned proudly on his promise to deny the Iranian regime the ability to develop a nuclear weapon,” said White House spokesman Davis Ingle in prior remarks. “The President does not make these incredibly important national security decisions based on fluid opinion polls or podcast hosts, but on the best interest of the American people.”

Carlson reiterated his decision: “I would not support the Republican Party. There’s no chance I would support the Republican Party.” He called the GOP immoral for failing to represent its citizens and added, “I’ve been a consistent defender of the Republican Party for 35 years… But there’s no defending this because it’s immoral.”

Greene, who resigned from the U.S. House last November after citing Trump’s withdrawal of campaign support, described her departure as part of a “revenge tour” against the president. She stated her decision was motivated by Trump pulling backing for her reelection, which she linked to her advocacy for Epstein files and opposition to artificial intelligence provisions in his legislation. On June 22, Greene explicitly aligned herself with Carlson’s move, declaring she stands with him in cutting ties with the GOP.
