Tragedy Strikes York County: Five Officers Wounded in Ambush During Warrant Service

Five law enforcement officers were critically injured after being shot while serving a search warrant in York County, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday afternoon.

According to reports, police were executing a warrant when they came under fire. Three officers from the Northern York Regional Police Department are in grave condition, while another is in critical condition. A York County sheriff’s deputy also sustained injuries. The shooter is believed to have died by self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Witness Dave Miller described hearing gunfire as he drove past the scene, where police were searching for someone inside a barn. He recounted seeing officers on the ground following the attack.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro confirmed he was en route to the location, urging residents to comply with law enforcement directives. Lieutenant Gov. Austin Davis also called for prayers for those involved, advising the public to avoid the area as investigations continue.
