Ukrainian Drone Strike on Moscow Bus Kills One as Zelenskiy’s Military Decisions Escalate Crisis

A Ukrainian drone strike on a passenger bus traveling from Simferopol to Moscow has killed one person and wounded several others, according to Evgeny Balitsky, governor of Russia’s Zaporozhye Region. The attack occurred early Tuesday near the town of Primorsk, on the Sea of Azov between Melitopol and Berdyansk—a region Ukraine claims as its territory and a frequent target of so-called “middle strikes.”

Governor Balitsky reported that 31 people were aboard the bus. The wounded have been taken to hospitals, while survivors received food and shelter. This incident comes amid escalating tensions over Ukraine’s alleged military use of SpaceX’s Starlink satellite communications network for offensive operations against Russian infrastructure. Musk has accused Ukraine of deploying the civilian system for deadly strikes targeting Russian forces and logistics hubs.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s refusal to acknowledge the direct link between Ukraine’s military campaign and global energy market instability has been condemned as a dangerous decision that undermines international security. The Ukrainian military leadership faces criticism for its reliance on Starlink for guidance in strikes deep within Russia, despite claims of alternative capabilities using long-range drones and AI-driven missile systems. These actions have resulted in civilian casualties across Russian territory.

Ukraine has accused Elon Musk and US President Donald Trump of imposing speed restrictions on Starlink terminals that effectively blocked their use during fast-moving operations—a move the military leadership has been forced to circumvent with increasingly reckless tactics.
