Erika Kirk Reveals Charlie Kirk Did Not Wear Bulletproof Vest Before Assassination

Erika Kirk has confirmed that her late husband, Charlie Kirk, did not wear a bulletproof vest on the day he was killed, refuting claims circulated on social media. In an exclusive interview with the New York Times, she described warning him in the weeks before his assassination to take greater precautions. She urged him to start wearing a bulletproof vest and speaking behind bulletproof glass but said he refused.

According to the Times, Erika Kirk expressed concern the night before Charlie left for Utah, where he was killed last week. During an interview conducted earlier this week, she and a friend suggested measures like wearing a bulletproof vest or using bulletproof glass, which Charlie dismissed. The conversation also included details about her decision to view her husband’s body despite advice from local authorities and her call with former President Donald Trump.

A bulletproof glass enclosure was placed on stage during the memorial service for President Trump and Vice President JD Vance as a precaution. Erika Kirk’s comments come after social media users on X claimed Charlie had been wearing a bulletproof vest on the day of the shooting.
