The Bills joined 10 NFL teams in honoring Kirk during Week 2, including the Green Bay Packers, New York Jets, Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tennessee Titans, and Arizona Cardinals. While the league initially mandated a moment of silence for the Packers, it later allowed other teams to decide independently whether to recognize Kirk.

Several franchises, such as the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings, and Las Vegas Raiders, opted not to honor him ahead of their games. The Jets also acknowledged Kirk during their recent game against the Bills.
