Attorney George Conway, seeking to represent New York in the U.S. House of Representatives, has launched a campaign ad targeting President Donald Trump with explicit threats of impeachment and imprisonment. In a 60-second spot rolled out Monday, Conway directly addressed Trump from the U.S. Capitol grounds, stating: “Hi, Donald. It’s me, George Conway. I cost you 88 f—— million dollars, and I’ve only just gotten started.”
Conway continued: “The only thing your name is going to be left on when I’m done with you is the orange jumpsuit you’re going to have to wear in prison.” He also pointed to the Capitol building, declaring: “That’s where we’re going to hold your third and final impeachment trial—the one that’s going to put you away for good, and I’m going to enjoy every minute of that.”
The White House responded with a scathing statement via its spokesperson, Davis Ingle. The official characterized Conway as “a stupid person’s idea of a smart person,” adding that Conway’s “severe and debilitating disease known as Trump Derangement syndrome has melted his brain and made him crazy in the head.”
Conway, who aims to succeed retiring Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) in New York’s 12th Congressional District, has positioned himself as a singular focus on holding Trump accountable through aggressive campaign messaging.
