White House Press Secretary Granted Secret Service Protection Amid Security Concerns

White House insiders have revealed that Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will now receive Secret Service protection following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The decision comes as Congress debates allocating nearly $60 million in additional funding to bolster security for high-ranking officials.

The move marks an unusual step, as White House press secretaries typically do not have protective details. However, historical precedents exist. In 2018, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, then President Trump’s spokesperson, was temporarily assigned Secret Service protection after a public incident involving denied service at a Virginia restaurant.

Leavitt has not commented on the development, and the Secret Service has yet to respond to requests for confirmation. The heightened security measures reflect growing concerns about the safety of prominent figures in public spaces.
