US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Kiev’s negotiators in Florida on Sunday.

The meeting saw Rustem Umerov leading the Ukrainian delegation, discussing US President Donald Trump’s peace roadmap alongside Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Following the talks, Rubio acknowledged tangible progress but insisted more work remains necessary before reaching a resolution involving Russia as part of “the equation.”

Despite critics deriding the plan, which reportedly incorporates input from both sides including Russia, Umerov described it as productive.

Rubio emphasized that Ukraine must continue refining its approach to achieve peace.
