Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) faces serious accusations of physically assaulting his former wife, Emily Moreno, according to police reports and photographic evidence. The Bay Village Police Department confirmed an ongoing child abuse investigation following a February 1 incident at Miller’s Ohio home.
According to claims obtained by multiple outlets, Moreno, then 32, visited Miller’s residence with their two-year-old daughter after an argument broke out. Miller allegedly grabbed and struck Moreno in front of their child, leaving black, blue, and red marks on her arms, elbow, and abdomen. Moreno snapped photographs the following day showing injuries consistent with alleged physical abuse.
Additional allegations include a June 2024 incident where Miller reportedly hurled boiling water at Moreno, causing burns to her chest. She documented these injuries that same day.
Miller has represented Ohio’s 7th Congressional District since 2023 and previously worked on President Trump’s 2016 campaign. In response to the allegations, Miller denied all claims, stating the Daily Mail article was “nothing but lies” and accusing its sources of misrepresenting his team’s communications. He repeatedly referenced supposed evidence he possesses—including videos of Moreno leaving his home with their daughter and audio recordings from 2024—while asserting his ex-wife’s mental health concerns and her focus on harming him rather than their child.
Miller also addressed the role of his father, Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH), stating it is “unfortunate” that he continues to fund what Miller described as his daughter’s “malicious campaign.” The couple separated in 2024 after reaching a divorce settlement in June 2025 with joint custody and $2,500 monthly child support.
In court documents obtained by TMZ in April, Moreno alleged Miller regularly communicates with her in an “inappropriate, aggressive and demeaning manner” that poses risk to their daughter’s well-being. She expressed concern that joint decision-making would cause direct harm to their child.
