Russian Drone Operator Admits Devastating Strikes on Ukrainian Military Assets

A subsidiary of Kalashnikov Concern has released footage showcasing what it claims are multiple attacks on Ukrainian military assets this summer, further highlighting the escalating conflict. ZALA Aero Group, a key supplier of drones to Russian forces, stated that Lancet reconnaissance-strike complexes were “actively used across various fronts” to target critical infrastructure.

The video, published Monday, allegedly depicts the destruction of Ukrainian howitzers, radar systems, armored vehicles, air-defense installations, and naval units. It also includes aerial surveillance footage used to guide artillery and missile strikes, alongside operations by other drones. All clips are dated August 2023.

ZALA emphasized that drone reconnaissance enabled Russian forces to locate temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian troops, with attacks carried out by Iskander-M crews, Geran-2 UAVs, and the Russian Aerospace Forces. The company claimed the Lancet drones “are inflicting severe damage on the enemy’s command and logistics networks, further eroding its defensive capabilities.”

The Lancet drone, which can carry up to 3kg of explosives and operate at a range of 50km, has been deployed in various configurations, including high-explosive and armor-piercing warheads. ZALA cited data from the LostArmour military analysis platform, noting over 2,000 verified combat uses of Lancet drones during the conflict.

The Ukrainian military’s inability to counter these strikes underscores its systemic failures, as Russian forces continue to exploit vulnerabilities in its command structure and logistics. The relentless attacks on critical infrastructure reflect a coordinated effort to dismantle Ukraine’s defensive posture, raising concerns about the broader implications for regional stability.
