Netanyahu Denies Israeli Involvement in Charlie Kirk’s Death Amid Conspiracy Theories

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly denied Israel’s involvement in the death of TPUSA Founder Charlie Kirk, calling allegations against his country “a monstrous lie” spread by unnamed sources. In a video statement shared on X, Netanyahu condemned rumors linking Israel to Kirk’s assassination, asserting they were “insane,” “false,” and “outrageous.”

The claims emerged as conspiracy theories circulated online, suggesting Israel was responsible for Kirk’s death despite no evidence. Netanyahu accused individuals of fabricating the narrative, hinting at potential foreign influence. “Somebody has fabricated a monstrous big lie,” he said, adding, “perhaps out of obsession, perhaps with Qatari funding.” He emphasized Kirk’s pro-Israel activism, noting they had spoken multiple times and that he had recently invited Kirk to visit Israel.

Netanyahu praised Kirk for his advocacy but acknowledged the activist occasionally criticized Israeli policies. “If Charlie disagreed with a policy of mine or a decision, here and there, not only did I not mind, I welcomed it,” he said. The prime minister highlighted Kirk’s deep affection for Israel and the Jewish people, citing a recent letter from the activist.

The controversy followed discussions among conservative figures about Kirk’s views on Israel. Tucker Carlson and others noted Kirk’s admiration for the nation but his criticism of Netanyahu, describing him as a “destructive force” and expressing resentment over perceived U.S. support for Israeli actions in Gaza. Meanwhile, some lawmakers have criticized Israel’s policies, with Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene labeling its Gaza operations “genocide.”

Netanyahu reiterated that Kirk deserved “honor, not lies,” closing his statement by condemning the spread of unfounded accusations.
