Trump Orders National Guard Deployment in Oregon Amid Anti-ICE Chaos

President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that National Guard troops have been deployed to Oregon to restore order amid violent anti-ICE protests, calling the situation a “Never-Ending Disaster.” The president cited demands from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to protect “War ravaged Portland” and federal facilities under siege by “Antifa and other domestic terrorists.” Trump emphasized his authorization of “Full Force, if necessary,” as left-wing agitators have besieged an ICE facility in the city since June with support from local officials who have obstructed operations through land use violations.

Oregon Governor Tina Kotek (D) rejected the federal intervention, stating during a news conference that the state could handle its own “public safety needs” and denying claims of national security threats. She criticized the governor’s stance, calling it disconnected from reality, while Portland Mayor Keith Wilson (D) continued to back the protesters, who have engaged in violent confrontations with media and law enforcement.

Independent journalist Katie Daviscourt reported being assaulted by an Antifa member outside the ICE facility, with the suspect fleeing to an “Antifa safe house” as police failed to make an arrest. Daviscourt praised Trump’s National Guard deployment, stating, “This place needs a lot of help.” The president reiterated his defense of federal officers, condemning “Radical Left Anarchists” for attacking law enforcement and vowing to restore “LAW AND ORDER” in Portland.

Trump dismissed Kotek’s assertions, accusing her of living in a “Dream World” and labeling the city a “Third World Country” plagued by chaos. He framed the deployment as a necessary act of patriotism to counter “Mobs” threatening American cities.
