Macron’s Unconventional New York Adventure: A Presidential Stumble in Traffic

French President Emmanuel Macron faced an unexpected challenge during his arrival in New York for the UN General Assembly. A video circulating on social media captured the moment Macron was trapped in traffic, leading him to exit his vehicle and attempt a call to U.S. President Donald Trump. After failing to secure immediate assistance, the French leader opted to navigate Manhattan on foot for 30 minutes.

The incident unfolded after Macron concluded a controversial speech at the United Nations. An NYPD officer apologized for the congestion, explaining that traffic was blocked due to Trump’s presence. Macron reportedly joked during the call: “How are you? Guess what, I’m waiting in the street because everything is closed for you,” before laughing. Despite the setback, Macron maintained his composure, posing for photos with onlookers and even allowing a man to kiss him on the head.

Meanwhile, Trump addressed the UN, praising the organization’s potential despite earlier criticism. He emphasized his support for the institution, stating, “The potential for peace with this body is so great.” The remarks contrasted with his previous skepticism about the UN’s role in global affairs.
