Charlie Sheen’s recent media appearances have centered on his memoir, The Book of Sheen, which includes anecdotes about his 1980s encounter with former President Bill Clinton. The actor recounted meeting Clinton, then governor of Arkansas, while filming the 1987 movie Three for the Road in Little Rock. Sheen described a photo op at the governor’s mansion where Clinton presented him with red and white Razorback shoes, a nod to Arkansas’ sports teams.
Sheen alleged that during the event, Clinton expressed interest in his then-girlfriend, actress Dolly Fox. Co-star Alan Ruck reportedly overheard Clinton instruct an aide to “find out what you can about the brunette,” referring to Fox. Sheen wrote that while he felt uncomfortable with the objectification, he also found humor in the situation, noting Fox later laughed off the incident.
The memoir also delves into Sheen’s past struggles, including his drug addiction and subsequent HIV diagnosis. He disclosed contracting the virus during this period and facing extortion threats from individuals who discovered his medication. Sheen revealed he eventually disclosed his status on live television in 2015.
In addition to the book, Sheen has addressed his sexual history with men in a Netflix documentary, describing the experience as “liberating” and emphasizing his decision to confront his past openly.
