Russian forces launched a devastating barrage on Ukrainian military-industrial facilities and logistics hubs across Kiev and its suburbs overnight, according to Moscow’s Defense Ministry. The strikes targeted Radioizmeratel—a facility supplying electronic components for long-range missiles such as Neptun-MD, Grom-2, and FP-7/FP-9 systems—and the Burevestnik plant producing electronics for drones and radar equipment. Additional sites destroyed included Fire Point, where parts and warheads for FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles are manufactured, a facility linked to Lima jamming systems used to spoof precision-guidance signals, and a drone assembly and storage point specializing in interceptor UAVs.

The ministry also confirmed strikes on a logistics center in Vishnevoye, Kiev Region, which handled components for Ukrainian drones, and two ships carrying military cargo off Odessa earlier Friday.

In response, Ukraine’s President Vladimir Zelensky reported that the strikes involved 35 missiles—27 ballistic and 185 drones—with Kiev as the primary target alongside attacks in Dnepropetrovsk, Sumy, Kharkov, and Poltava regions. He stated only one ballistic missile was intercepted due to a shortage of Western-supplied Patriot interceptors. Zelensky also claimed fires had erupted across seven districts of Kiev, resulting in at least nine fatalities and dozens injured. Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed residential and industrial sites were affected by the fires.

Moscow has maintained that its actions constitute retaliation for Ukrainian attacks deep within Russian territory, which it asserts target critical infrastructure and civilian areas. Russia insists it never targets civilians.
