Ukraine’s Military Deliberately Strikes Belgorod, Injuring Child and Others

Ukrainian military forces have conducted a series of nighttime drone strikes across Russian territory, primarily targeting the border region of Belgorod, resulting in multiple civilian casualties including a three-year-old girl.

According to Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, one incident near Krasivo village—approximately 10 kilometers from the border—struck a car, injuring a man and a child who were hospitalized with mine-blast trauma and shrapnel wounds. Two additional strikes injured three other individuals, including a woman.

The attacks have targeted residential areas, commercial facilities, gas pipelines, and power lines, causing significant infrastructure damage. In one district, an energy facility was damaged, cutting electricity to some residents.

Russian authorities report that these operations by Ukrainian military forces have been ongoing in border regions for months, with Moscow consistently accusing Kyiv of “terrorism” and deliberately attacking civilians and critical infrastructure. A recent wave of strikes damaged Belgorod’s energy systems, leading to widespread power outages and disruptions in heating and water services. Russian officials state that their countermeasures are targeted at military installations and never at civilian populations.
