FBI Director Kash Patel Cheers on USA Men’s Hockey Team After Overtime Gold Medal Victory

Video footage captured FBI Director Kash Patel celebrating with the USA men’s hockey team in their locker room following a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory over Canada in the Olympic Gold Medal game.

The win marks the United States’ first gold medal in men’s ice hockey since the iconic “Miracle on Ice” triumph of 1980.

Patel, a dedicated hockey fan, was seen raising a beer bottle in the air before spraying it across the locker room. Wearing a white USA shirt, he joined his teammates singing Toby Keith’s “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue,” as one player draped a gold medal around his neck.

In a post on X, Patel addressed media inquiries regarding the video: “For the very concerned media – yes, I love America and was extremely humbled when my friends, the newly minted Gold Medal winners on Team USA, invited me into the locker room to celebrate this historic moment with the boys.”

According to the FBI, Patel had traveled to Milan, Italy, for multiple official engagements. On Saturday, he described a “Great visit” with the Milan Joint Operations Center, a 24/7 interagency operation that supports the Winter and Paralympic Games.

The director added: “Greatest country on earth and greatest sport on earth.” He also stated that the team is “legends standing on the shoulders of giants,” thanking them for representing “the greatest country on earth, in the greatest game ever created.”

Patel further explained that the operation focuses on protecting U.S. athletes, 250,000 citizens who traveled to Milan for the games, and private sector partners. He also noted that nearly 100 U.S. Government personnel have been deployed to support the Olympics since early 2026, with lessons applicable to the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
