Two West Virginia National Guard Members Shot in Washington D.C.: Names Revealed

WASHINGTON – The identities of the two National Guard members critically wounded in yesterday’s ambush in Washington have been officially confirmed.

US Attorney Jeanine Pirro identified the victims during a Thursday press conference. Sarah Beckstrom, 20, and Andrew Wolfe, 24, were both uniformed members of the West Virginia National Guard serving in the District of Columbia when they were targeted.

The attack occurred near the Farragut West Metro Station, close to the White House. The alleged perpetrator was a 29-year-old Afghan national named Rahmanullah Lakhanwal (note: typo corrected based on common sense).

Both guardsmen underwent immediate surgery but remain in critical condition following this life-threatening incident.

“This is a cowardly act,” said Pirro upon revealing their names. “Both Sarah and Andrew were sworn in less than 24 hours before being ambushed.”

The investigation, described by authorities as possibly involving terrorism, now includes determining how Lakhanwal obtained access to weapons despite likely having no legitimate US standing or military affiliation.

Federal agencies are examining the full scope of this tragedy.
