Alison King’s ‘Aww, They Missed?’ TikTok Video Triggers UnitedHealthcare Termination

A woman identified in reports as Alison King, formerly a social media manager at UnitedHealthcare, was terminated after her TikTok video resurfaced widely following the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner on April 25.

The clip showed King reacting to the shooting with the now-infamous line: “Aww, they missed?” and added, “That’s when you know we’re cooked.”

UnitedHealthcare confirmed that the individual who made the online comments about the incident was no longer employed. The health insurance giant stated that violence is never acceptable and that remarks suggesting otherwise do not reflect its mission and values.

In her initial video, King expressed disbelief about the incident’s reality before delivering the now-controversial comment. After being fired, she posted follow-up videos where she described the original post as a “stupid video,” claimed that far-right groups shared it on social media platforms, and reported receiving threatening messages including doxxing and a letter containing a picture of her home.

King later shifted her criticism outward, arguing that she was being held more accountable for a single comment than those sending threats. She also accused President Trump of “violent rhetoric” in one video and stated she had no idea what her career would look like moving forward.

The incident occurred at the Washington Hilton during the dinner event attended by President Trump. The suspected gunman, Cole Tomas Allen, was arrested after authorities reported he opened fire at the gathering.
