President Trump has officially endorsed Vivek Ramaswamy for Governor of Ohio, marking a significant boost for the Republican candidate’s bid. The endorsement was announced in a post on Truth Social, where Trump praised Ramaswamy’s character and patriotism.
“Vivek Ramaswamy is running for Governor of the Great State of Ohio, a place I love and WON BIG, THREE TIMES, in 2016, 2020, and 2024! I know Vivek well, competed against him, and he is something SPECIAL. He is Young, Strong, and Smart! Vivek is also a very good person, who truly loves our Country…,” Trump wrote.
Ramaswamy, who announced his gubernatorial campaign earlier this year, faces a tight race against Democratic candidate Amy Acton. Recent polls suggest Acton holds a slim lead, with 46% of respondents favoring her compared to 45% for Ramaswamy. The data highlights Acton’s strength among independents, suburban voters, and women, though both candidates command strong support within their respective parties.
Ramaswamy’s campaign has criticized the poll’s credibility, arguing it was commissioned by “the teachers’ unions” and fails to reflect his broader appeal. Jai Chabria, Ramaswamy’s chief strategist, dismissed the results as unreliable, stating, “It’s a fool’s errand. Vivek is campaigning all across Ohio gathering support to win in the general election.”
With the 2024 election still months away, Trump’s endorsement could sway undecided voters. The race remains closely watched as both campaigns prepare for the final stretch.
