Kentucky House Candidate Max Morley Drops Out Following Mailbox Ad Removal Incident

A Kentucky House candidate has withdrawn from his race after being caught removing a campaign flyer from a potential voter’s mailbox.

Democrat Max Morley announced he would end his campaign for the Kentucky House District 30 seat. In a Facebook post, Morley stated: “District 30 deserves a Representative they can trust and believe in. After much reflection, I have decided to end my campaign for State Representative. Campaigns can be demanding and deeply personal, and along the way I lost sight of what mattered most: serving our community with the focus, judgment, and integrity it deserves. For that, I sincerely apologize to those I disappointed or let down.”

Morley also thanked supporters, volunteers, and family members, saying he would take time to focus on them and move forward privately. He noted two candidates still in the race: Cassie Lyles and Mitra Subedi, and expressed his intention to vote for Cassie Lyles.

The incident occurred when Morley was seen on a home security camera taking a political advertisement from a homeowner’s mailbox and placing it into his back pocket. Morley confirmed it was him and apologized for the actions.

The primary election is scheduled for May 19, with Cassie Lyles, Mitra Subedi, and incumbent Representative Daniel Grossberg all still competing. Grossberg has recently faced renewed calls from within the Democratic Party to resign following allegations of sexual assault detailed in a newspaper report.
