Patel noted that the investigation unfolded within 33 hours, crediting the “full weight of the federal government” and partnerships with local authorities. He highlighted the FBI’s use of fixed-wing assets to transport evidence and personnel, as well as the rapid release of suspect photos and a $100,000 reward.

Key details included the suspect’s arrest at 10:00 PM local time on September 11, following a press conference led by Governor Cox. Patel acknowledged the “incredible” collaboration with state and local law enforcement, stating that the case could not have been resolved without their efforts.

The FBI also emphasized its transparency, releasing video and images of the suspect to the public. Over 7,000 leads were generated overnight, with more than 11,000 calls received by the FBI by morning.
