New Jersey remains the epicenter of anti-law enforcement demonstrations as groups disrupt civil society near the Delaney Hall immigration facility in Newark.
As ordinary citizens go about their daily routines, a garbage truck driver from Elizabeth recently expressed frustration that resonated with many Americans weary of left-wing campaigns of chaos. In an incident captured on video by Freedom News, the driver yelled to demonstrators: “If I hit one of y’all, I go to jail.”
The driver for Elizabeth-based Regional Industries pleaded with protesters—who were demonstrating against conditions at the New Jersey detention facility—to let him pass. “Come on, man,” he shouted before re-entering his truck.
Many demonstrators wore masks and goggles to protect themselves from pepper spray used by ICE agents during confrontations.
In the end, the driver was able to drive away without incident.
Social media users have criticized the demonstrations as ineffective, arguing that they only serve to inconvenience people and thus make them less likely to be swayed toward left-wing ideologies. One user remarked: “Schools out these crazy, soy eating, lunatic lefties are getting paid. Mr. Trash truck driver, proceed with taking out the TRASH.”
According to a May 25 press release from Homeland Security, detainees at Delaney Hall receive three meals daily, clean water, clothing, bedding, showers, soap and toiletries, as well as access to phones for communication with family members and legal counsel. Certified dieticians evaluate meal plans, and the facility provides comprehensive medical care—a fact that contradicts congressional Democrats’ claims.
The Department of Homeland Security noted in its release that “for many illegal aliens, this is the best healthcare they have received their entire lives.”
