Florida Plane Emergency Landing Crashes into Car, Injures Driver

Startling video footage captured a small aircraft crashing into a car on Interstate 95 in Brevard County while attempting an emergency landing. The fixed-wing Beechcraft 55 had reported engine trouble prior to the incident.

According to Florida Highway Patrol reports, a driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital. The victim was a 57-year-old woman. The aircraft’s pilot and passenger, both aged 27, remained unharmed at the scene.

Witness Jim Coffey described how the plane came “mere seconds away from colliding with [his] vehicle” before crashing into another car. “I thought it might maybe aim around and not hit the car, but bam, the wheel just smacked right dab on the back of the car,” he stated. His son Peter Coffey added that the vehicle “mashed and went to the side” without rolling.

The crash site revealed a crumpled 2023 Toyota Camry with significant damage to the aircraft’s nose and wheel.
