FBI Director Kash Patel Says Multiple Suspects May Be Involved in Charlie Kirk Assassination

FBI Director Kash Patel has indicated that multiple suspects could be involved in the investigation into the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, as the agency continues its probe into the incident. During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Patel was questioned by Senator John Kennedy about whether Tyler Robinson, the individual charged in connection with the killing, acted alone. Patel responded that the FBI is still in the early stages of its investigation but confirmed that multiple individuals are being examined.

Patel stated during the hearing that his agency is investigating “anyone and everyone involved” in a Discord chat linked to Robinson, who is accused of fatally shooting Kirk at Utah Valley University. The director emphasized that the FBI is reviewing all communications connected to the suspect, including electronic devices seized from Robinson’s home and that of his romantic partner. These devices include computers, laptops, gaming systems, and cell phones.

Patel also mentioned that law enforcement has identified 22-year-old Robinson as the shooter but reiterated that the investigation remains ongoing. He noted that evidence recovered included text messages in which Robinson allegedly expressed intent to target Kirk. The FBI director did not provide further details on the state of the case or potential additional suspects, stating that the agency is “very much in our ongoing posture of investigation.”
