Amazon’s Potential ‘The Apprentice’ Reboot Sparks Speculation Over Donald Trump Jr. Hosting

Amazon has reportedly begun internal discussions about reviving the reality television series “The Apprentice,” which was originally hosted by former U.S. President Donald Trump for 14 seasons from 2004 to 2015.

According to sources, Amazon executives have suggested that Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., could serve as host for a potential reboot of the show. The company clarified in an internal statement that the series is not currently in active development and any details about potential hosts remain speculative. Amazon also noted its acquisition of MGM in 2014, which had previously held the rights to “The Apprentice” through partnerships with Trump Productions and Mark Burnett Productions.

“The Apprentice” aired on NBC for over a decade before going off-air in 2015. Amazon has been streaming reruns of the show online and distributing syndicated versions internationally since then. Financial records indicate that Donald Trump continues to generate significant income from the show, with reported royalties ranging from $100,000 to $1,000,000 in 2024. The value of the show itself remains difficult to quantify.

The reboot project is currently in early stages and has not yet been approached by Trump’s family.
