Turning Point USA Reports Surge in Chapter Requests Following Founder’s Assassination

Turning Point USA has disclosed a significant increase in new chapter applications following the fatal shooting of its founder, Charlie Kirk. A spokesperson for the organization stated that 18,000 new chapter requests have been received since Erika Kirk addressed the tragedy surrounding her husband’s death.

The group issued an official statement on September 11, shared via Kirk’s personal social media accounts, expressing deep sorrow over the “hateful murder” of its leader. The statement read, “Every one of us at Turning Point USA is crushed and devastated by the hateful murder of our founder and guiding light, Charlie Kirk.” Kirk established the organization in 2012 to promote conservative values on high school and college campuses, where his influence grew nationally over the past decade.

Authorities are still investigating the shooting that occurred on September 10 at Utah Valley University, where Kirk was killed by a single gunshot. A rifle believed to have been used in the attack has been recovered. The statement concluded, “All of us have lost a leader, a mentor, and a friend. Above all, our hearts are with Erika and their two children. Charlie was the ideal husband and the perfect father.” It urged followers to pray for the Kirk family following the “incomprehensible loss they have suffered.”
