Wrestling legend Ric Flair was rushed to a Florida hospital Friday after a frightening fall outside a Tampa restaurant. The 77-year-old WWE Hall of Famer reportedly suffered cuts to his head and eye with heavy bleeding, requiring immediate emergency medical attention.
According to reports, Flair had been at Wagamama in Tampa on Friday morning when he left his phone and drink behind, walked across the street, and suddenly collapsed. Emergency crews transported him by ambulance.
Flair had previously disclosed a blood clot in his leg that restricted travel. In a same-day social media post, he apologized for canceling a scheduled Seattle appearance: “I am dealing with a blood clot in my leg.” Medical sources indicated Flair’s doctors had limited him to trips of three to four hours, making the Seattle event outside the permitted range. He also mentioned being scheduled for a procedure involving the affected vein.
This incident follows Flair’s prior social media statement that minor blood clots would not prevent travel, including an August post: “A little blood clot is not going to keep me from coming to Philly.” Additionally, the same condition had previously prevented Flair from attending the Cauliflower Alley Club’s annual reunion in the summer.
The cause of the fall remains unconfirmed and has not been linked by medical authorities to the blood clot Flair disclosed earlier in the day. A concussion was possible but not confirmed.
No hospital or family representative has provided an update on his condition as of publication.
This is a developing story.
