President Trump addressed a question about a government fund Wednesday on CNN, shifting the conversation to years of alleged Biden-era lawfare and media bias.
CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins inquired about the status of a $1.776 billion weaponization fund. Trump stated he would have to consult lawyers to determine whether the fund was dead or on hold.
During his remarks, Trump described the fund as targeting “great American people” who were “savage[ly] victimized,” including suicides and bankruptcy, by the Biden administration through “thugs” including Obama appointees. He noted that the fund had been scrapped after threats from what he called “RINO Senators” to withhold funding for ICE and border patrol.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed the cancellation on Tuesday.
When Collins attempted to interrupt Trump, he shut her down with: “Wait a minute, be quiet!”
Trump accused Collins of having a history as a conservative from Alabama but claimed she was now part of the media that abused supporters. He singled out CNN and the New York Times as outlets that perpetuated false reporting against his base.
