Former “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert has been officially terminated from his position at CBS following his final broadcast this week. The move prompted President Donald Trump to share an AI-generated video on his Truth Social account, in which he manhandles Colbert by the suit jacket for three firm shakes before tossing him into a green trash bin.

The audience roars as Trump seals the lid and begins dancing to “Y.M.C.A.” The clip was posted late Friday, one day after Colbert’s series finale aired.

Trump had previously championed Paramount Skydance’s decision to fire Colbert, then announced on Truth Social: “Colbert is finally finished at CBS. Amazing that he lasted so long! No talent, no ratings, no life. He was like a dead person. You could take any person off of the street and they would be better than this total jerk. Thank goodness he’s finally gone!”

The president later shared the meme on his social media platform X, which has seen reduced usage. Former CNN host Jim Acosta denounced Trump’s celebration as a victory lap, but the post received numerous replies challenging the president’s comments. The official White House account on X posted the video with the caption: “Bye-bye.”
