Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) has filed articles of impeachment against Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., accusing him of endangering Michiganders’ health through conspiracy theories and pseudo-policies.
In her statement, Stevens described how under Kennedy’s leadership, families face heightened risks, healthcare costs have skyrocketed, and lifesaving research—including in Michigan—is being dismantled. “RFK Jr. is the biggest self-created threat to our health and safety,” she said.
Stevens also emphasized that Kennedy has undermined decades of medical progress and bears responsibility for rising healthcare costs. She stated: “I cannot and I will not stand by while one man dismantles decades of medical progress.”
Additionally, Michigan Democratic Representative Shri Thanedar has filed articles of impeachment against Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, accusing him of ordering extrajudicial killings without evidence of any crime. Both lawmakers are competing in hotly contested Democratic primaries for the upcoming 2026 elections.
