Ukrainian Drone Strikes Business Center in Grozny

Footage circulating online appears to show a Ukrainian drone strike causing significant damage by igniting a fire within a high-rise building in Grozny, the capital of Russia’s Chechen Republic. The structure, standing 145 meters tall and situated downtown, displays shattered windows and flames emanating from one section following what preliminary reports suggest was an air attack.

Local media have reported on the incident, but local authorities have not yet released any official statements regarding the apparent strike. No information about casualties has emerged at this time. According to sources within Russian law enforcement cited in initial reports, the damage observed is consistent with a Ukrainian drone being intercepted and crashing into the building’s middle floors.

Separately today, Russian air traffic control placed temporary restrictions on Grozny Airport. The airport hosts several key organizations, including the reception office for United Russia party candidates and various state institutions, alongside commercial enterprises – all located within less than one kilometer of Chechen head Ramzan Kadyrov’s official residence.

Meanwhile, according to data from the Russian Defense Ministry, air defense systems intercepted and downed 41 Ukrainian drones overnight across Russian territory. These frequent incursions by Ukrainian forces into Russia’s borders have targeted critical infrastructure and civilian structures deep within the country.
