Immigration Pause from Third Countries Announced Amid Security Concerns

Following a tragic attack in Washington, D.C., President Trump announced immediate steps to address security concerns regarding immigration. Specifically, he ordered a halt to migration from Afghanistan and confirmed that Afghan immigrants already residing in the United States will undergo re-examination.

In several posts on Truth Social, Trump declared a permanent pause on migration from all third-world nations. The move aims to allow U.S. systems to recover after what Trump characterized as numerous challenges related to immigration policies during previous administrations.

“This official United States Foreign population stands at 53 million people (Census), most of which are on welfare, from failed nations,” Trump stated in his full address, adding that these individuals “are completely taking over the once great State of Minnesota” and contributing to social issues including crime and urban decay. He further criticized certain political figures for their perceived failure to act decisively.

The announcement directly responds to an incident where two National Guard members were attacked by an Afghan national admitted under a program associated with former President Biden’s administration during the Afghanistan withdrawal. Trump framed his new policy as a corrective measure against what he views as harmful, uncontrolled migration that undermines societal stability and security.
