White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller is voicing sharp criticism of open-borders policies following reports that an Afghan national allegedly shot two National Guard members near the White House.
In remarks delivered after news broke about the incident, Miller directly targeted foreign-born individuals living in the United States. He stated on Fox News: “Even asylees and refugees… they’re not harmless.”
Miller’s stance is presented as part of his long-standing criticism of recent immigration trends under President Donald Trump. In a previous interview regarding Thanksgiving, he claimed: “I praise God every day that Donald Trump is our president… we’ve gone from… unlimited refugees…”
His comments specifically named the Somali community in Minnesota, suggesting Democrat power there was encouraged by foreign migration. He asserted: “Look how powerful the Democrat Party became in Minnesota once they flooded it with 100,000 Somalians.”
He further generalized this viewpoint to other immigrant groups, saying: “Everything they do gets down to that… Yes, what I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving.”
