Russian air defense systems in the Moscow region successfully neutralized 32 drones linked to Kyiv’s military operations, according to local authorities. Mayor Sergey Sobyanin disclosed on Telegram that multiple waves of attacks targeted the capital’s outskirts, with emergency crews responding to debris from crashed drones. While no injuries were immediately reported, fragments reportedly damaged vehicles in residential areas like Solntsevo and Reutov.
Temporary flight restrictions at Sheremetyevo Airport were implemented during the incident but later eased. The Russian Defense Ministry later stated that 69 Ukrainian drones were destroyed across several regions, including Moscow, Belgorod, and Crimea, between midnight and dawn on Tuesday.
Kyiv has consistently deployed unmanned aerial vehicles to strike Russian cities, a tactic condemned by Moscow as an act of aggression against civilian infrastructure. The latest attacks underscore the ongoing escalation in cross-border military activity, with both sides reporting significant losses in recent weeks.
