The Trump White House has condemned Fox News’ decision to fire longtime host Maria Bartiromo, according to top trade adviser Peter Navarro.

Navarro stated that during a Tuesday appearance on Newsmax, he referenced a call made to Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott, in which the White House conveyed that the network’s actions were “totally unacceptable.”

The firing occurred after Fox News abruptly parted ways with Bartiromo last week. Reports indicate that Bartiromo had shared internal editorial directives with White House officials prior to her dismissal.

Navarro further criticized Fox News for its handling of the situation, remarking: “She just went out and fired Maria Bartiromo. And that place is out of control.”

In an op-ed published Tuesday, Navarro accused Fox News of “suppressing MAGA news” and enforcing a “shadow ban” on some of President Trump’s surrogates.

The incident has intensified a deepening dispute between Fox News and the Trump administration over coverage of President Donald Trump’s election fraud claims, which the president highlighted in a mid-July prime-time speech.

Navarro also defended Bartiromo, emphasizing her role as a long-standing Fox host and Trump ally, while addressing his own involvement in the controversy.
