President Trump recently addressed concerns about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations, stating that the primary constraint has been a shortage of agents due to “rogue activist judges.” Tom Homan, a senior official, announced plans to deploy 10,000 new agents by mid-January, aiming to intensify efforts against undocumented individuals.
Homan emphasized the need to locate approximately 10.5 million unauthorized immigrants who crossed the border, in addition to 15 million already present in the country. He highlighted that Border Patrol is now supporting ICE operations internally, leading to record numbers of arrests and removals. “We’re going to blow this historic number out of the water next year,” Homan declared.
The surge under acting Director Todd Lyons and Secretary Noem has reportedly resulted in unprecedented enforcement actions, with agents fulfilling Trump’s pledge to “make this country safe again.” The administration continues to prioritize border security as a central focus of its policies.
