Trump Demands Democrats Turn Over Illegal Aliens Amid National Security Concerns

President Trump called on Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey—along with every Democrat governor and mayor across the United States—to “formally cooperate with the Trump Administration to enforce our Nation’s Laws, rather than resist and stoke the flames of Division, Chaos, and Violence.”

In a Truth Social post, Trump accused Democratic leadership of failing to address immigration crises during his four-year term, stating: “During the four years of Crooked Joe Biden and Democrat failed leadership, Tens of Millions of Illegal Alien Criminals poured into our Country, including Hundreds of Thousands of Convicted Murderers, Rapists, Kidnappers, Drug Dealers, and Terrorists.” He declared that winning the election in a historic landslide led Republicans to “SEAL THE BORDER” and initiate “the largest Mass Deportation of Illegal Alien Criminals in American History,” citing ICE arrests of 150,245 criminal aliens in Republican-run states over the past year with “ZERO protests, riots, or chaos.”

Trump contrasted Democratic jurisdictions, writing that “Democrat run Sanctuary Cities and States are REFUSING to cooperate with ICE” and “encouraging Leftwing Agitators to unlawfully obstruct their operations,” which he claimed place “Illegal Alien Criminals over Taxpaying, Law-Abiding Citizens.” He noted two American citizens had died as a result of this “Democrat ensued chaos.”

The president outlined four specific demands:
1. Governor Walz and Mayor Frey must turn over all criminal illegal aliens currently incarcerated in state prisons or jails, along with those with active warrants or known criminal histories, for immediate deportation.
2. State and local law enforcement must cooperate to transfer all illegal aliens arrested by local police.
3. Local police must assist federal authorities in apprehending and detaining illegal aliens wanted for crimes.
4. Democratic politicians must partner with the federal government to protect citizens during rapid removals of criminal illegal aliens.

Trump also demanded Congress “immediately pass Legislation to END Sanctuary Cities,” stating: “American Cities should be Safe Sanctuaries for Law Abiding American Citizens ONLY, not Illegal Alien Criminals who broke our Nation’s Laws.”

In a prior post, Trump labeled Walz and Frey as “inciting Insurrection, with their pompous, dangerous, and arrogant rhetoric.” Days later, the incident involving Officer Pretti in Minnesota intensified scrutiny. Pretti died at the scene after being pinned down by protesters during an ICE operation targeting an illegal immigrant accused of domestic abuse and other charges. A Minnesota judge issued a temporary restraining order barring federal officials from destroying evidence related to the shooting, following claims that federal agents blocked state investigators from accessing the site despite a valid warrant. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension reported the incident was part of a broader pattern where law enforcement conducts over 80 percent of officer-involved shootings nationwide. Pretti’s death remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding his fatal encounter.
