A man in Pennsylvania was arrested after allegedly driving his car into a metal gate outside an FBI building in Pittsburgh, prompting federal authorities to label the incident an “act of terror.”
Donald Henson, a 53-year-old resident of Penn Hills, was taken into custody following the early morning attack on Wednesday. According to FBI Special Agent in Charge Christopher Giordano, Henson deliberately rammed the main entrance gate at approximately 2:40 a.m., describing the act as a “targeted attack” on the facility.
Witnesses reported seeing Henson exit his vehicle and toss an American flag over the gate before fleeing the scene. One observer, Cierra Posey, noted the driver appeared incoherent as he left. Another witness, Idez Columbie, stated Henson “walked away like nothing happened.”
The FBI disclosed that Henson, a former military member with known mental health challenges, had previously visited the building two weeks prior to file an unfounded complaint. Giordano emphasized the incident was not random, stating, “This was directly against the FBI. He specifically targeted this building because it’s the FBI building.”
Authorities also revealed that Henson’s vehicle bore “some vulgarity” scrawled on its side, though details of the writing remained unclear. No injuries were reported in the attack.
