Over 14,000 Students Attend Turning Point USA Event at Ole Miss with VP JD Vance and Erika Kirk

Vice President JD Vance and Erika Kirk delivered speeches at a Turning Point USA event held at the University of Mississippi, drawing an estimated 14,000 students—nearly half the campus population. Additional reports indicated that over 13,000 adults were turned away due to capacity limits, with organizers confirming the turnout exceeded expectations.

The event featured energetic speeches from Kirk and Vance, who addressed topics including immigration, religious values, and national priorities. Vance emphasized a focus on U.S. interests over global concerns, stating, “My job as vice president is NOT to look out for the interests of the whole world. It’s to look out for the people of the United States.” He also defended Christianity as foundational to America, asserting, “You do not have to completely kick God out of the public square… anybody who tells you it’s required by the Constitution is lying to you.”

Students at the event reportedly chanted “48! 48!” during Vance’s speech, reflecting strong engagement. The gathering was described as highly charged, with attendees celebrating what organizers called a “spiritual reclaiming of territory” and a demonstration of grassroots political enthusiasm.
