Mother of Hunter Biden’s Child Files Request to Incarcerate Him Over Unpaid Child Support

Lunden Roberts, the mother of Hunter Biden’s child, has filed with Arkansas Judge Holly Meyer a request for Hunter Biden to be incarcerated in the Independence County Detention Center as a civil penalty for failing to meet his child support obligations.

In 2023, Roberts settled her claims against Hunter for alleged millions in unpaid child support by agreeing to $5,000 per month in payments and an arrangement where Hunter would meet with their then-4-year-old daughter and let her pick out some of his paintings.

However, Roberts now alleges that Hunter has failed to follow through on the agreement. Her legal filing states that their daughter, Navy Joan (also known as “MC1” in court documents), expressed a desire to be with her father, saying she “could not wait to get to heaven” so she could “be with [her] dad” because he does not see or talk to her.

Roberts wrote that the child believes her father will go to heaven and that he lives far away and is too busy to engage.

Hunter initially denied paternity, but a court-mandated DNA test confirmed his role as the father. Afterward, he began engaging with his youngest daughter.

The filing describes how the child and her father have been building what was previously a missing but “exceedingly important” father-daughter relationship.

Hunter Biden is a father to five children: three with his ex-wife Kathleen Buhle and one son, Beau Biden Jr., with his current wife Melissa Cohen.

In 2018, Hunter had a relationship with Roberts that led to the birth of Navy Joan Roberts. He acknowledged the child in his 2021 memoir, stating he had no recollection of Roberts and that the encounter occurred during his struggles with alcohol and drug addiction.

The child was identified as Navy Joan Roberts in 2023 following the resolution of the paternity dispute.

In July 2023, President Biden stated that Hunter and Roberts were working together to foster a relationship beneficial for their daughter while preserving her privacy. He emphasized this matter as “a family issue,” not political.

A source familiar with the situation noted that the recent child support resolution has influenced the dynamics of the relationship between the parents.
