A woman who was fatally shot after attempting to run over an ICE agent with her vehicle in Minneapolis has been identified as 37-year-old U.S. citizen Renee Good.
According to social media, she identified as LGBT and used “she/her” pronouns in her bio.
Good, originally from Colorado, recently moved to Minneapolis where she was living with her partner.
Her mother, Donna Ganger, spoke to reporters about her daughter. Ganger stated that her daughter lived in the Twin Cities with a partner but declined to specify whether she resided in Minneapolis. The family was notified of Good’s death late Wednesday morning.
“That’s so stupid,” Ganger said after learning about the circumstances from a reporter. “She was probably terrified.”
Ganger described her daughter as one of the kinest people she has ever known, noting that Good was extremely compassionate and had taken care of people throughout her life. She emphasized that Good was “loving, forgiving and affectionate,” adding that she was an “amazing human being.”
When asked about involvement in anti-ICE protests, Ganger said: “Renee was not part of anything like that at all.”
A video clip from the aftermath of the shooting surfaced online, featuring a woman who claimed to be Good’s wife and mentioned they had a 6-year-old child.
