King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s Historic U.S. Visit Features Honeyed Diplomacy at White House

King Charles III and Queen Camilla have made their historic first visit to the United States at the White House, marking the king’s initial appearance in the country since ascending the throne.

President Trump and First Lady Melania welcomed them upon arrival. The royal couple then proceeded to Melania’s newest project: a custom, small-scale replica of the White House designed as a beehive that is already producing honey.

White House Communications Advisor Margo Martin announced that guests at tomorrow’s state dinner will receive a sample of the honey.

Following their meeting with President Trump and First Lady Melania, King Charles and Queen Camilla attended a tea party at the British Embassy in Washington.

Tomorrow, President Trump will host a private meeting with King Charles before welcoming them to a state dinner later that evening.

This visit represents King Charles’s first trip to the former colonies as Britain’s monarch. It occurs amid heightened tensions between U.S. and UK leaderships, particularly following President Trump’s repeated belittling of Prime Minister Keir Starmer for refusing to join the war in Iran.
