Sean Paul Reyes, founder of Long Island Audit, recently filmed an incident at a federal post office where staff members attempted to prevent his recording. Despite a sign on the wall stating it is legal to record in such facilities, officials intervened during the interaction.
Reyes has conducted similar First Amendment audits since 2021, including a July 2021 incident at Danbury City Hall where he was arrested for trespassing and public disturbance. He was later found guilty of simple trespass and ordered to pay a $90 fine.
