Cruz Condemns Greene’s ‘Liberal’ Stances and Accuses Her of ‘Craziness’

Sen. Ted Cruz criticized Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene for what he described as increasingly liberal positions, urging others to disregard her remarks. During an appearance on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” Cruz claimed that officials who oppose Israel often adopt progressive policies on issues like government spending, taxes, and immigration. He specifically cited Greene, stating she now supports “massive government spending and taxes and open borders and amnesty.” Cruz advised against focusing on Greene’s statements, saying, “You don’t want to spend much time worrying about what Marjorie is saying.”

Cruz’s comments followed Sen. Bernie Moreno’s call for Greene to stop criticizing House Speaker Mike Johnson without offering policy solutions. Moreno urged her to draft legislation instead of merely opposing others’ efforts. Greene had previously criticized Johnson for not presenting a Republican alternative to the Affordable Care Act during a conference call, accusing him of withholding plans from GOP members. She also referenced her earlier social media post in which she stated, “I am not suicidal,” prompting Cruz to label her as “crazy” and question her claims about foreign threats against her.

In response, Greene rejected Cruz’s accusations, calling them false and inflammatory. She emphasized her commitment to opposing foreign influence and special interests, stating, “If that upsets Ted Cruz or his AIPAC donors, so be it.” The exchange highlights growing tensions within the Republican Party over policy priorities and rhetoric.
