Turning Point Action, the political advocacy arm of Turning Point USA, has officially endorsed Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) for Florida’s gubernatorial election.
The endorsement provides a significant boost to Donalds’ campaign ahead of the GOP primary race. Donalds declared his candidacy in February 2025 to replace term-limited Governor Ron DeSantis and already holds the backing of President Trump.
“I’m honored to announce I’ve earned the endorsement of Turning Point Action,” Donalds stated. “Charlie Kirk’s legacy lives on through this incredible organization, and I’m grateful for their support in my campaign for Governor of Florida. Together, we will take the Sunshine State to the NEXT LEVEL.”
Donalds has raised over $40 million from early supporters, significantly outpacing other declared Republican candidates. Early January polling shows him leading the GOP primary with 47% support compared to 5% for Azoria CEO James Fishback and 4% for former Florida House Speaker Paul Renner.
Florida Lieutenant Governor Jay Collins entered the race this week, declaring: “I’m running for Governor because leadership is forged under pressure, not in soundbites. I served over 23 years in the United States military, mainly as a Green Beret, where accountability is real, decisions have consequences, and service comes before self.”
Turning Point Action’s endorsement brings robust grassroots mobilization to Donalds’ campaign, aligning with his emphasis on school choice, parental rights, and economic conservatism—issues long championed by both Trump and Kirk.
The Republican primary in Florida will be held on August 18, 2026, with the general election scheduled for November 3, 2026.
