BONDI BEACH MASSACRE: ISIS-Linked Father-Son Duo Kills 15

More details have emerged regarding the gunmen who killed 15 people at Bondi Beach.
New South Wales Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon revealed that Naveed Akram, 24, and his father Sajid were allegedly motivated by Islamic State ideology.

Authorities confirmed the pair traveled to the Philippines recently. Lanyon stated improvised explosive devices and two homemade Islamic State flags were found in a vehicle registered to Naveed at the scene of Sunday’s shooting.

“The reasons why they went to the Philippines, and the purpose of that, and where they went when they were there, is under investigation at the moment,” Lanyon said.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese described the attack as being inspired by Islamic State ideology, calling it a “meticulous, calculated, cold-blooded” assault.

The incident left 15 dead and 25 people hospitalized. Naveed Akram was arrested at the scene with critical injuries and taken to hospital; his father Sajid was shot dead by police.

Lanyon clarified that Sajid first obtained a gun license a decade ago but was not issued until 2023. Naveed, who worked as a bricklayer, came under surveillance by Australia’s Security Intelligence Organisation (Asio) in October 2019.
