Alleged Shooter Tyler Robinson ‘Confesses’ to Killing Conservative Figure Charlie Kirk in Online Chat

A 22-year-old man allegedly confessed to fatally shooting conservative commentator Charlie Kirk during a public event, according to messages shared on the online platform Discord. The suspect, identified as Tyler Robinson, reportedly sent a message to a group of nearly three dozen individuals hours before his arrest.

The chat message, obtained by an anonymous source and shared with outlets, reads: “Hey guys, I have bad news for you all. It was me at UVU yesterday. I’m sorry for all of this. I’m surrendering through a sheriff friend in a few moments. Thanks for all the good times and laughs, you’ve all been so amazing, thank you all for everything.”

Robinson’s alleged confession surfaced days after law enforcement apprehended him following a 33-hour manhunt. Authorities confirmed he was taken into custody on September 12 after his father turned him in upon recognizing him from FBI-issued photos. The suspect had driven to the University of Utah Valley campus, changed clothing, and allegedly carried out the attack before fleeing the scene.

The message, sent on Thursday night, reportedly included details about Robinson’s actions and intentions. However, officials have not independently verified the authenticity of the chat. Discord previously stated it found “no evidence that the suspect planned this incident or promoted violence” during an internal review.

Meanwhile, federal investigators are examining whether online communities, including those associated with pro-trans ideologies, had prior knowledge of the attack. The case remains under active scrutiny as authorities work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Additional developments include reports of book listings on Amazon featuring titles related to the incident, some of which were published days before the event occurred. Investigators are now investigating the origins of these listings.
